Creating ROC
Minister Gayle Hobson gave her life to Jesus in 1985 and her heart in 1991. It became clear to her that salvation came at a high cost, and that her devotion to God would have to be represented in every aspect of her life. With this fresh new understanding, Gayle would go on to accomplish many exploits under the guidance of God. Founder of Taking It Off the Streets a Radio talk show intended to encourage people struggling with addiction, and to provide some sort of hope for the loved ones affected by the addiction, Gayle began giving back in ways she had only dreamed of. The talk show aired from 1991 to 1993. She founded Reach Out Center, a nonprofit organization in 2000. She also started a free clinic for spiritually distraught women who offered one on one and group counseling in 2003, and it ran successfully for three years.
Gayle started having retreats for women with a team that was made up of leaders from local, and distanced churches in 2004 for 6 years. Gayle taught in the correctional facilities both as a volunteer and a paid consultant for over three years. She started a book drive to give a book of inspiration to both men, and women who would be apart from their loved ones due to imprisonment. The book drive was functional for six years
Her heart's desire is to see people walk in the deliverance that Christ provides through his death on the cross, and inspire others to live the overcomer's life to its fullest. Isaiah 58:12 is her foundational scripture, “And your people will rebuild the ancient ruins; You will raise up and restore the age-old foundations [of buildings that have been laid waste]; You will be called Repairer of the Breach, Restorer of Streets [a]with Dwellings.” This scripture epitomizes the heart and passion of Minister Hobson’s personal ministry and totally encompasses God’s redemption plan for His people. Gayle received a certificate in counseling after completing two years of Bible College at Richmond Christian Center, a local church native to Richmond, Virginia. She is an ordained minister, Registered Peer Recovery Coach, and a Wrap Fascinator. Gayle is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Liberty University. She is the proud mother of four children and nine grandchildren. Gayle believes that if you can look up, you can get up and begin a new life from any place life has taken you.
